The short answer

Rockstar, Sony and Microsoft have not published a resolution, frame rate or graphics mode for GTA 6 on any console. Confirmed The only platform detail on the store pages is that the game is on PS5, is flagged PS5 Pro Enhanced, and is optimized for Xbox Series X|S. Any per-console comparison you see with numbers is a guess.

What is confirmed per console

GTA 6 store-page statements, checked October 7, 2026
ConsoleWhat the official page saysResolution and fps
PS5 (disc and Digital)Listed on PlayStation; DualSense haptics, adaptive triggers, Tempest 3D Audio, fast SSD loadingNot stated
PS5 ProListed as PS5 Pro EnhancedNot stated
Xbox Series XListed as optimized for Xbox Series X and SNot stated
Xbox Series SSame Xbox listing as Series XNot stated

The PlayStation page does not say what the Pro enhancement changes. PlayStation's own Pro page describes "PS5 Pro Enhanced" in general terms as improved visuals and performance over the standard PS5, using the console's extra power. Confirmed That is a description of the label, not of GTA 6.

Published hardware differences

These come from Sony and Microsoft spec pages, not from Rockstar. They show what each box can do in general. They do not tell you how GTA 6 will run.

Console specs from official pages
ConsoleBuilt-in storageDisplay support listedDisc drive
PS5 Digital Edition825 GB4K, high frame rate in supported gamesNo
PS5 (disc)1 TB4K, high frame rate in supported gamesYes

Xbox Series S512 GB or 1 TB1440p target, upscales to 4K, up to 120 fps in supported contentNo, all-digital

Some of each SSD is reserved for system software, PlayStation notes. Confirmed Xbox lists the Series X at 12 TFLOPS and the Series S at 4 TFLOPS. Confirmed Sony's pages we opened do not give a comparable TFLOPS figure for the PS5 family.

What we do not know

  • Whether GTA 6 has a quality mode, a performance mode, or only one mode.
  • Whether the PS5 Pro build changes resolution, frame rate, ray tracing or all three.
  • Whether the Series S build differs from the Series X build beyond resolution.

A podcast has claimed a 30 and 60 fps option on PS5 and Series X, with 30 fps on Series S. It cites one unnamed source, and Rockstar has said nothing. Unconfirmed We treat it as a rumour.

So which console should you buy?

If you already own one of these, you can play on launch day. Do not buy a Pro or Series X only for GTA 6 performance until Rockstar shows modes. Storage is the one planning issue you can act on now, and the install size is also unannounced. See our PS5 Pro and SSD guide and the storage planner.

Does GTA 6 run at 60 fps on PS5?

Not announced. No official frame rate has been published for any console. Confirmed

Is GTA 6 better on PS5 Pro?

It is flagged PS5 Pro Enhanced on PlayStation's page, but the changes are not described. Confirmed

Will Series S run GTA 6 differently from Series X?

Microsoft lists the Series S at a 1440p target and the Series X at true 4K in general. GTA 6 specific settings are not announced. Confirmed

Where will the official performance details appear?

Likely on Rockstar's newswire or the store listings before launch, but no date is announced. Estimate
