Confirmed platforms

Rockstar and Take-Two name two platform families: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S Confirmed. The PlayStation listing says the game is released for "PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro" and is marked as PS5 Pro Enhanced. Rockstar's site also carries a "Plays best on PlayStation 5" badge. The Xbox listing names Xbox Series X|S.

What the Pro enhancement actually does has not been detailed on the pages we opened. Unconfirmed

Last generation

Every official page we opened names only PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X|S. No PS4 or Xbox One version has been announced. Confirmed

PC

Nothing has been announced for PC. Not in the pre-order release, Rockstar's pages, or coverage of the September 17 Take-Two annual meeting, where CEO Strauss Zelnick spoke only generally about PC becoming more important. Confirmed There is no date, no price, and no system requirements.

What precedent suggests

Rockstar's last two big games arrived on consoles first:

If the pattern holds, a PC version would be unlikely before late 2027, but this is our reading of history and not a statement from Rockstar. Estimate Anyone claiming a PC date today is guessing.

Which console should you pick?

Both consoles are confirmed, so the choice is mostly about what you already own and where your friends play. PlayStation currently has the most detail on its store page: it lists PS5 Pro Enhanced support, DualSense haptics and adaptive triggers, Tempest 3D Audio, and Remote Play. The Xbox listing names Series X|S but, on the pages we opened, shows fewer feature details. Rockstar has not published a side-by-side performance comparison, so we make no claim about frame rates or resolution. Unconfirmed

What this means for you

  • To play on November 19 you need a PS5 (any model) or an Xbox Series X or S.
  • Mods and PC-only tools are not part of the launch story.
