GTA 6 on PC: releasedate and status

There is no announced PC version. What Rockstar and Take-Two have said, what history suggests, and why any PC date or requirements you see today are guesses.

The short answer

No PC version of GTA 6 has been announced. There is no PC release date, no price and no system requirements. The only confirmed platforms are PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, launching November 19, 2026. Confirmed

What has been said

Rockstar's pages and the pre-order announcement name consoles only. At the September 17 Take-Two annual meeting, CEO Strauss Zelnick spoke generally about PC becoming more important to the company, without naming GTA 6. Confirmed That is not a PC announcement.

What history suggests

Console-to-PC gaps for earlier Rockstar games
GameOriginal releasePC releaseGap
Grand Theft Auto VSept 17, 2013 (PS3, Xbox 360)April 14, 2015About 19 months
Red Dead Redemption 2Oct 26, 2018Nov 5, 2019About one year

If the pattern holds, a PC version would be unlikely before late 2027. That is our reading of history, not a statement from Rockstar. Estimate

Spot the fakes

  • "GTA 6 PC release date" videos and posts with a specific day are guesses or clickbait.
  • PC system requirements do not exist yet. Any list you see is invented. See the console requirements guide for what is published.
  • Pre-order pages for PC that are not on an official store are a red flag.

What to do instead

  • If you want to play on launch day, you need a PS5 or an Xbox Series X|S. See platforms and PC status for the console comparison.
  • Plan storage early: pre-load and file size.
  • We update this page the moment Rockstar says anything about PC.
Is GTA 6 coming to PC?

Not announced. Confirmed

When will GTA 6 be on PC?

Unknown. Our estimate from precedent is a year or more after console launch. Estimate

What are the GTA 6 PC system requirements?

None exist yet, because there is no announced PC version.

Can I play GTA 6 on PC with a console emulator or streaming?

Nothing official supports that and we do not recommend unofficial routes.
