Rockstar has not published a frame rate or resolution for GTA 6 on any platform. Confirmed The PlayStation and Xbox listings and Take-Two's pre-order announcement give neither number. Confirmed Every "30fps" or "60fps" claim is outside analysis or guesswork.

What the official pages do say

  • The PlayStation listing marks the game PS5 Pro Enhanced and lists DualSense haptics, adaptive triggers, Tempest 3D Audio and fast SSD loading. Confirmed
  • The Xbox listing says "Optimized for XBOX Series X|S". Confirmed
  • Rockstar's page for the Extended Look says it was captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5. Confirmed

"Enhanced" and "optimized" are platform labels. They do not tell you the fps or resolution, and Rockstar has not detailed what the PS5 Pro enhancement does. Confirmed See PS5 vs PS5 Pro vs Xbox Series X|S.

What press analysis claims

Outlets that analyzed the Extended Look, including Digital Foundry as summarized by Pure Xbox, said the footage appeared to run at 30 frames per second at around 1440p on a base PS5. Unconfirmed Those are measurements of a compressed video, not statements from Rockstar, and they say nothing about other consoles or modes. Unconfirmed Other commentators have predicted a 30fps cap even on PS5 Pro, or a later 60fps option. Those are guesses. Estimate

Why rumors differ

  • Different footage. Trailers are encoded video, often edited and cut, so counts vary by who measured.
  • Different hardware. A claim about PS5 Pro, base PS5 and Xbox Series S can all be reported as "GTA 6 fps".
  • Old claims. Numbers from before the Extended Look keep circulating.
  • Leaks. Rockstar has not confirmed any leaked performance figure. See leaks and rumors.

Questions to ask

If the answer to the first question is not Rockstar or the store listing, treat it as unconfirmed.

What to do now
