GTA 6 crossplay: status, multiplayer and PCas of Oct 2026
GTA 6 crossplay is not announced. PlayStation and Xbox list a single-player game, and no PC version exists. What Take-Two has said and what is unknown.

GTA 6 crossplay has not been announced, and the game launches on November 19, 2026 as a single-player experience. Confirmed Crossplay needs a multiplayer mode, and no GTA 6 multiplayer mode is announced.
What the official pages say
PlayStation's listing says "Grand Theft Auto VI is a single-player experience" and lists no multiplayer modes. Confirmed The Xbox listing carries the same wording. Confirmed Neither mentions crossplay. Confirmed The platforms named are PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. Confirmed
What Take-Two has said
At the September 17, 2026 shareholder meeting, CEO Strauss Zelnick said Take-Two is launching GTA 6 "as a single player experience on two major platforms", so it expects no recurrent consumer spending from this launch, according to Inven Global. Confirmed He also said GTA Online is a robust business that Take-Two will keep supporting. Confirmed None of the reports we opened mention GTA 6 crossplay.
Crossplay and PC
No PC version is announced, so PC and console crossplay is not possible today. Confirmed It would also need a multiplayer mode that does not exist. See platforms and PC status. PlayStation to Xbox crossplay is a separate question, and the listings do not address it. Confirmed

What this means if you want to play with friends
- At launch you play alone. You can still share clips, tips and progress.
- If you want to play with friends today, GTA Online on GTA V remains a separate game. Rockstar and Take-Two say it is supported. Confirmed
- Cross-platform friends will have to wait for an announcement. Any "GTA 6 crossplay confirmed" headline needs an official source behind it.
What would change this
A Rockstar newswire post, a store listing update or a Take-Two statement would be the way crossplay or a multiplayer mode becomes official. We would update this page and the online status guide the same day.
